Madhyamik (Class X state board) examinations have begun in West Bengal, with a total of 6,98,724 candidates appearing this year. Thursday’s paper is the first language. Madhyamik 2023 will end on March 4. The board has announced that the results will be published in the last week of May.

The president of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE), Ramanuj Ganguly, announced that the examination will be held across 2,867 centers, with over 40,000 examiners, including about 35,000 invigilators, ensuring smooth conduct of the exams.

To maintain the integrity of the examination, Ganguly revealed that the exam centers will be under CCTV surveillance, with police personnel deployed outside. This is a necessary measure to prevent any malpractice, and ensure fairness and impartiality in the examination process.

Each day’s test will start at 11.45 am and continue till 3 pm. The first 15 minutes are allotted for reading the questions. This year, the Class X board exams are being held on the entire syllabus. Last year, the state secondary education board reduced the syllabus as an adequate number of in-person classes could not be held due to the Covid pandemic.
